There is a sideways to life,
when the steps of hesitancy alter
a forward course.
Though the ground remains
unshaken, we tremble with
instability, as the enemy of
doubt sets up camp.
A war begins.
The air is full of wind
and rain forcing us to seek
shelter from this storm and
the next and the next.
We encourage the safety we
miss to return, checking behind
us as we walk, hoping for its
shadow.
With the morning comes
a new light, a new
foundation and a new
beginning. We just need to
breathe it in.
