It was a voyage, a trip without
boundaries, an engine full of steam
with the power to move.
Like a train moving from the station
the noise encompassed the faint
and stirred the strong; hats were held
for fear of sliding off.
It was the time of great thought, a message
held from an extended hand or wisdom
released like the fragrance of excellent wine.
It’s all about the new package of day.
A beginning we hope for, the challenge
accepted. We step into it like favorite shoes,
unlaced, without socks, moving with
the ease of flight, entering the vapor
of corners and new doors. It’s a start.
