SKY SIGNS

invisible winds twisting clouds gray shadow prints crawl past   a deepening of humidity changing without introduction   rain presses in lightening blasts thunder hammers fog blankets   …and then   blue sky infinity slips within the circle where we stand

WHERE I WALK

rain I got   crying wet onto me   diamond drops brightened by street lights making the worst appear washed and clean while puddles reflect neon’s as passing footsteps make busy waves disturbing what weeps and gathers from the under surface of heaven to the streets where I walk

NIGHT RATTLING

a full moon exposes the rugged skin of a meadow a storm dead tree paths grown over broken stone walls as the wind speaks a disturbed language punishing ghosts and beating gravestones on a night overshadowed by a black cat and broken mirror magic

THREE LEAF CLOVER

flames of messages   hand prints speaking from the wall   about a life walk down narrow alleys past back doors loves left behind storms and sun sleepless nights trials and errors   while searching for a destiny above the scatter leaning toward the shape of how it is to be   greater than the … More THREE LEAF CLOVER

SHELTER

the presence of light becomes absorbed within a gray mica sky   leaves fold over as the sky weeps a barbed wire rain stinging the skin   a dog wind with teeth exposed growls like rusted shovels beating black skillets   everything appears to be breaking   I surrender seeking shelter within a a rock … More SHELTER

FROM ABOVE

the bones of words remain behind like rumpled sheets without memory of sleep as day tosses a mixed salad of walking and arriving   the hours melt into the water of day   time slows for anxious eyes while rain marks windows and umbrellas below splashing on buses sizzling off neon’s   coats of color … More FROM ABOVE

STANDING BENEATH

piano playing rain lightening flames in a sky burning with storms   drums of thunder the slam of gods wearing armor   heaven backs up from swift winds claiming the air   as rain beats dry dirt with a wet hand

SWITCHING OVER

the ocean is in eventide   the pausing of waters before obeying the change   ghosts of twilight hide within its stillness as a deep and distant rumbling stirs the edges of all horizons   splintered clouds inspect the madness unfolding below   where waters tempt the brave and foolish

TRYING TO GET OUT

There’s rain in the desert where lizards and one eyed dogs live on the wrong side of the tracks and bars with tired neon’s blink onto cactus and sand where nothing comes alive except lightening and dry winds as we try for the right way leaving behind what tries to hold us back in the … More TRYING TO GET OUT

TO ANOTHER PLACE

There are many roads some with my name in the dust others I forgot like the place I’m from   boxcars like the likes of me no favorites just moving through storms and deserts   open land is the power of silence the spreading of alone where road signs collide suggesting the start of what … More TO ANOTHER PLACE
