THE OFFERING

faced into seasons swept to the edges where clouds form at tree tops, lazily, like an afternoon nap as cotton curtains stir to the gift of breezes and  bright shades of white reflect off the ocean, bowing to blue skies

BREATHING OUT

the house was a fire of voices   a child on the front porch sang a song about water and boats   floor boards language inner travel from room to room   burnt evening skies brushed the house with setting shadows as night breathes out a deep sigh of quiet

LEANING

darkness covers the linen of skin, folding over with day lost, the sky closes out   the feel of sun warm breezes surrender to shadows replacing colors with a flat gray like layers of curtains,   the first call of night leaning into stillness

OUR DUSTY ROAD

our car lights cut a shinning path over a dark surface as we pass below boughs of great trees   I lean out the window watching leaves twist as we hurry past   stars blink on a dark infinity sky   warm air rushes through my hair, my eyes blink with excitement   our street … More OUR DUSTY ROAD

PASSIVE LIPS

what is gentle to us when the curse of mourning lays desperate on our eyes collapsing granite souls as flowers bend and skies appear to fall onto shoulders as night holds sad the hostage, a weakened heart on its knees with questions rising from passive lips

SKY SIGNS

invisible winds twisting clouds gray shadow prints crawl past   a deepening of humidity changing without introduction   rain presses in lightening blasts thunder hammers fog blankets   …and then   blue sky infinity slips within the circle where we stand

NEVER FORGOTTEN

NEVER FORGOTTEN     the best of life taken replaced with words a sketch of what lies below remembrances etched onto stone as pain releases and agony unleashes a river wide beyond sky where to go or see as the voice haunts like waters of a stream night and day passing through until faintly a … More NEVER FORGOTTEN

LINEN SONG

fair winds circled past open windows teasing checked and striped curtains snapping their ends against red stained brick walls signaling like a ship messages to the sky

RUSTY SKELETON

voices descend through the fire escape   men wearing sleeveless t-shirts drink and smoke   women whisper   children stare to the sky where clouds shadow the alley   a cat sleeps resembling driftwood   pigeons gaze down from the rooftop   Latin music rich with aroma drifts from a window

FINDING A WAY

Coasting on the thought highway searching for someplace else the chance to belong to soften the stubbornness of a granite heart   it’s a wintry night in summer while considering weak memories under cloudy skies   a full darkness holds the safety net where dreams are stolen from shadows as we try to breathe life … More FINDING A WAY
