OVER AND LIGHT

I saw a winking moon hide behind kingly pines   where silence finds comfort in darkened leaning shadows   and silver liquid beams slipped through thick boughs   as the round full faced hanging around moon delivered light to paths on my way home.

OVERNIGHT HOME

Gypsy soft shoes drift through the shadows of a campfire. Egyptian blue shirts and lime orange slippers dance in circles, forcing the excited sparks higher.  Voices share experiences of survival and close calls. Men sport straw hats and Peruvian colored scarves.  From peach basket seats, men smoke thick cigars; serious eyes foster cautious plans.  The … More OVERNIGHT HOME

IT ALL ADDS UP

I am the undercurrent of your shadow. A breath between beats. Breezes move past like years of facts we claim to achieve.  Words become festivals of flow; engines of fire, strong with grace. Sometimes when alone, memories speak to me while angels weep of loss, under the welcome cover of clouds. It’s all simple in … More IT ALL ADDS UP

A PATH THROUGH

Years hold the pictures as youth fills in where legs ran forever; trees envied the quickness.  Warm days touch the side of faces; a silent act of unconcern.  Empty chairs hold the shadows several times removed; their song is a story of before.  Fondness eventually waits for no one.  The clock of seasons protects its … More A PATH THROUGH

OUT OF BOUNDS

The fire excites gypsy dancing. Sparks mingle angrily into the cool breezes of a blackened night. The air becomes possessed with groans and fevered mutterings. The sounds crawl to the ground like a snake fleeing without a fight.   Music fuels the spirit unleashed.  Shoes pound the dirt.  Dust clings to everything. Hands clap a … More OUT OF BOUNDS

EASY OVER

A lost intention follows a misplaced adventure.  Shadows become detours, spinning webs of emotional misery and absence. Morning yells that we are older. Our shoes are stories lacking souls. We breathe in ripples and then blur out our needs as we shed cloudy desires. There is a fast lane of words we believe we can … More EASY OVER

LAST NIGHT

It was good to be back under a night sky where distant stars are without names and dreams appear with ease.  Where faces lost in time are hidden behind gauze filled clouds while their voices rise from rivers I crossed in the past.   Campfires send of curled leaflets of sparks, blanketing a black velvet … More LAST NIGHT

JUST AHEAD

The sun clipped over the tops of quick moving clouds, creating a running shadow over me as it sped ahead searching for a finish line.  I ran with the hope to catch it, when another caught me from behind.  It’s a day without rain.  Geese are heading north.  Blossoms expand. I stand in a soup … More JUST AHEAD

OPEN FOLDS

A signal without an arrow pointing from an unspecified corner.  Choosing not to speak is the language of the curious; the absence of shoes limits the desire to go.   Something eventually brings us to the edge, where the precipice creates a sickness in our knees, fearing the fall and the bottom.   From here, … More OPEN FOLDS

STREET VIEW

STREET VIEW     Indifference streaming.  Decades of walls.  Doors locked.  Playgrounds hold the future.  Dogs bark at shadows. Every fence leans with weak defense. Overgrown empty lots have no memory.   Black suits and hats.  Generations of braided hair and faithful prayers.  Winsome songs slip to the background.  Faces like flowers bloom with smiles. … More STREET VIEW
